The Africa Sustainable Insurance Summit brings together leaders and changemakers in Africa’s insurance industry to turn sustainability commitments into real action. The 2026 edition will focus on how insurers can drive climate resilience, innovation, and inclusive growth across the continent.
The Africa Sustainable Insurance Summit (ASIS) 2026 is the flagship event of the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance (NDSI) — a network of more than 270 members working to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into Africa’s insurance industry.
Â
Building on the success of the 2025 summit, this year’s event in Cape Town, South Africa, will bring together insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and regulators to explore practical ways to embed sustainability into every part of the insurance value chain, from product design and governance to investment strategies.
Experience how African insurers are embedding sustainability across products, governance and investments – turning pledges into practice.
Participate in hands-on workshops, working group sessions and case studies tailored to your ESG journey.
Connect with CEOs, regulators and thought leaders shaping Africa’s response to climate risk and resilience.
Engage with frameworks like UNEP PSI, GFANZ and AFAC to position your organisation within global sustainability goals.
Africa’s insurance sector is at a turning point. Climate shocks are becoming more frequent and severe, while insurance coverage remains low, leaving millions exposed to risk. With global frameworks like IFRS S1/S2 and TCFD gaining ground, African insurers are rethinking how they assess risk, invest capital, and design products that promote inclusion and resilience.
Â
The 2026 Summit will highlight real progress in sustainable insurance, showcasing practical examples of innovation, collaboration, and impact. From climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy coverage to ESG-aligned investment strategies and inclusive microinsurance models.

Key areas of focus will include:
