The African Development Bank and its partners will hold a high-level event on the Africa Climate Risk Insurance Facility for Adaptation (ACRIFA). ACRIFA is an innovative and ambitious financing facility that aims to foster climate adaptation, resilience, and sustainable development for Africa’s agricultural SMEs. Engaging with the insurance sector is going to be critical to seeing Africa’s biggest climate risks effectively measured, monitored, and managed – NDSI is a proud partner, working with the AfDB on design and implementation of ACRIFA.
The objectives of this event will be to;
- Convene critical stakeholders for a focused dialogue seeking to accelerate resource mobilization for ACRIFA and update partners on progress made since its unveiling at the Africa Climate Summit.
- Highlight the collaborative efforts of ACRIFA’s key strategic partners, who recognize and increasingly support climate insurance as a fundamental tool for adaptation finance, and who are partnering around ACRIFA to expedite the expansion of bespoke climate insurance solutions.
- Showcase a sample of ACRIFA-aligned pipeline investments presented by anchor partners with the aim of bolstering targeted resource mobilization efforts towards the implementation of the Facility.
