Bernard Katambala is currently ZEP-RE’s Chief Underwriting Officer and has been with
the company since 2015. Bernard is also responsible for engineering centre of competence
in the company. Bernard is currently a board member of Uganda Reinsurance Company.
Prior to joining the ZEP RE, he was the Regional Manager, East Africa with Munich
Reinsurance Company, having worked in various markets including USA and Mauritius over
a period of more than 14 years.
Mr. Katambala has over 23 years of experience in reinsurance and 2 years in engineering
construction. He holds an Honors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi
and an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute of United
Kingdom (ACII). Bernard is a Chartered Insurer and a certified engagement and productivity
coach.
