Hafiz is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management studies from the University of Cape Coast and an LLB from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Hafiz brings extensive regulatory expertise in risk-based supervision models within the insurance sector. He served as Head of the Licensing and Financial Analysis Unit at the National Insurance Commission (NIC) from 2017 to 2019. Subsequently, he gained industry experience as the Risk Manager for Enterprise Group from 2019 to June 2020. Currently, Hafiz leads the Insurtech and Innovation Unit at the NIC. He has been actively engaged with and extensively participated in Africa’s BimaLab Accelerator program. Hafiz is the lead NIC officer on ESG Integration in the insurance industry and currently serves on the National Sustainability Reporting and Implementation Committee.
