Oluwakayode Ashamu is a corporate sustainability professional and researcher committed to advancing the view that sustainable business is fundamental to long-term value creation. He supports organisations in designing and implementing sustainability strategies, ESG initiatives, and climate-aligned governance frameworks across sectors including finance, manufacturing, telecommunications, mining, and oil and gas.
Kayode has contributed to sustainability studies, advisory engagements, and multi-stakeholder dialogues at both local and international levels. His work is driven by key development priorities such as decent work and economic growth, responsible consumption and production, sustainable cities and economies, peace and justice, and partnerships for sustainable development.
He has served as a Technical Adviser to the Kaduna State Government on ESG matters, including monitoring, evaluation, and sustainability performance systems, and has also worked as a Special Assistant within the Federal Ministry of Finance and Budget. Kayode is an accredited professional at PwC and a member of a strategic think tank supporting the adoption of the IFRS ISSB Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and S2).
A three-time Research Fellow of the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA) and a Climate Fellow with the Civic Ecological Lab at Cornell University, Kayode brings a strong blend of applied sustainability expertise and research-driven insight to his work.
