Nabeel Rylands is a senior public sector professional with over 20 years of experience in disaster risk reduction, governance, local government, and spatial intelligence. He currently serves as Director: Disaster Risk Reduction at the Western Cape Disaster Management Centre, providing strategic leadership in provincial risk reduction policy, planning, and climate informed resilience. Previously, he was employed by Ernst & Young (EY) as a Senior Manager in Government and Infrastructure, advising public sector institutions on governance reform, infrastructure planning, and performance improvement.
